Following last week’s debate on Internet service in Yemen, broadcasted on national TV in the successful “Face to Face” program, it was concluded that the to-be-licensed ISPs have not been yet launched due to incomplete infrastructure.
Internet monopoly was terminated months ago but the ministry could not give licenses without the completion of data network and gateway projects. Data network is indeed the medium of transporting internet data while the gateway is the gate to world internet resources. The statements made by the officials during the debate brought hope that new ISPs may be operational soon.
