Telecommunication Project launched [Archives:2001/30/Local News]

President Ali Abdullah Saleh inaugurated the Al-Thuraya satellite telecommunication project on Saturday July 21st, 2001 from his current residence in the city Rochash Eagle in the State of Bavaria, Germany. This project is a starting-point for using this system by the Yemeni citizen. The president conducted a telephone call with Eng. Abduh Al-Malik Al-Moalemi, the Minister of Telecommunication and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Partners Limited Company, Mr. Nashwan Ibraheem Al-Hamdi the representative of Emirate-based Al-Thoria Company for satellite telecommunication, a joint venture between Al-Thuraya and the Public Corporation for telecommunication. The project will facilitate the telecommunication services through the GSM network.
