Tennis Leaders Meet [Archives:2001/44/Local News]

Last Thursday, the Police Officers’ Club hosted a meeting between founders of Tennis in Yemen and a number of sport personalities that have run the Ministry of Sports. 
Speeches delivered expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Honorary President of the Tennis Association, Staff Colonel Ahmad Ali Abdullah Saleh, who sponsored the event to develop the game in Yemen. They also spoke highly of Dr. Abdullah Abdulwali Nasher, chairman of the Association who has contributed to the popularity of the game in Yemen. 
Speakers emphasized the importance of keeping sport an open field for all, separate from politics, so that it remains a tool to gather people on the basis of love and solidarity. 
The Ministry of Sports disclosed the intention to establish a closed sports hall for women and a children’s entertainment park at al-Zubeiri Park.
