On the occasion of celebration of the 12th Anniversary of Yemen Times the Education Page presented by Dr. Ramakanta Sahu in cooperation with Mr. Ramzy Alawi was termed as a star attraction of the news paper. In this context the sustained efforts of the team for promoting among learners of English of Yemen and neighboring countries knowledge of appropriate use of English in different communicative contexts as well as disseminating among them useful information on a spectrum of highly relevant academic matters through the 174 issues of the page brought out so far was hailed by the Chief Editor. In his introductory remarks before presentation of a citation as a token of recognition of their invaluable contributions Mr. Walid Abdulaziz Al-Saqqaf, the Chief Editor expressed deep appreciation for the commitment and dedication of the team in maintaining the high standard of the page which is justifiably the flagship of the newspaper.
In acknowledging the honor conferred on the team, Dr. Sahu paid respectful homage to the memory of late Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saqqaf, the founder-editor of Yemen Times who was not an individual, but an institution himself. Dr. Sahu kept on record his deep debt of gratitude to Mr. Walid Al-Saqqaf under whose dynamic stewardship the newspaper has set a tradition of excellence and is poised to scale greater heights. He said how proud he felt to belong to the Yemen Times family, and be a part of the glorious legacy it inherited. He shared the spirit of jubilation and attributed the success of the Education page to excellent team work of the team members Ramzy Alawi, Abdu Assabri, Fahmia Al-Fotih, Bassam Ahmed and Bassam Jameel, not to forget the valuable contributions of Hisham Al-Qubati and Tawfeek Al-Sharabi during the formative stage of this modest endeavor which has eventually snowballed into a mass movements of sorts.
The team has also been privileged to receive many insightful suggestions from Mr. Mohammed Khidhr which has significantly contributed for the qualitative improvement of the page. He offered his sincere thanks and profound gratitude to his colleagues throughout Yemen who have enriched the page by their thoughtful articles and features in different fields of knowledge, to countless young writers for selecting the outlet provided by the Education page for manifesting their creative sparks, and, last but not least, to the discerning readers for their considered views. At the same time he hoped that their cooperation would continue ever after.
Dr. Sahu concluded by reiterating the team's resolve to rededicate themselves to further revitalize the page in terms of content and layout and welcomed constructive suggestions for qualitative improvement of the page.
