The judicial forum recommends amendments to the judiciary law [Archives:2005/841/Local News]

The consultative meeting of judicial authority, attended by 150 senior officials, approved on assigning a committee to draft amendments to the Judicial Authority Law so as to go in line with the constitution. The two-day forum centered on the strategy that aimed at improving the judiciary performance.

During the event, Minister of Justice Adnan al-Jafri addressed participants and indicated the importance of the meeting's suggestions and recommendations, pointing out to the constitution confirmation on the judiciary's independence and that only judges and the people's just conscience is the only guarantee for the judiciary independence. He said the ministry of justice would contribute to purchase computers for judges prosecution members. He stressed on the judicial inspection on courts and prosecutions and the role of the media and society in enhancing and developing the judicial sector.
