The President’s Cup: Matches in All Governorates [Archives:1998/39/Sports]

Celebrating the Yemeni Revolution, the General Football Association is organizing the President’s Cup Championship for Excellent and First division football clubs. Matches are held in all governorates.
On Friday, the Wahda of Sanaa defeated Shabab Abs 2-nil, qualifying to the second round along with Saqr of Taiz which defeated Somood of Dhali’ 2-nil.
The Hassan Football team also qualified to the second stage by defeating the Tali’a of Shabwa 9-8 by penalty kicks. The regular match time ended with a 2-score draw. Al-Hilal of Hodeida beat Fat’h of Dhamar 3-nil in a match characterized by a fine performance on both sides.
The Ahli of Hodeida defeated Khanfar of Abyan 4-1 and qualified to the second round. The Ahli of Sanaa defeated Maeen of Al-Baidha 2-nil, and Zohra defeated the Ittihad of Saada 5-nil.
