Yemeni-Italian economic relations are being enhanced steadily, said Giamcomo Sanfelice di Montegorte, Italian Ambassador to Yemen during a press conference at the presence of President of Toscany on Tuesday at the Taj Sheba hotel.
Mr. Montegorte emphasized that the third Italian week is an indication of the brotherly and deep-rooted relations between Yemen and Italy and the importance of enhancing it in every possible way because both countries share common and diverse interests.
The Third Italian Week, which was attended by a significantly high-ranking Italian delegation has encompassed cooperation fields in cultural, commercial, and political aspects.
In response to a question by Yemen Times about whether Italian companies participating in the Italian week will open branches or have agencies in Yemen, the Chairman of Salerno Chamber of Commerce said that around 9 Italian companies have taken part in the exhibition. He also said that five trade contracts have been signed by Italian and Yemeni companies to open branches for their and a host of ministers and top officials have met with representatives of those companies to broaden cooperation with the Yemeni side.
The main events of the Third Italian Week have been jointly organized between the Federation of the Italian and Yemeni Chambers of Commerce.
The event aims at establishing new business contacts between the delegation of Italian industrialists, from the Tuscany Region and from the Salerno Chamber of Commerce, with their Yemeni counterparts.
The Third Italian Week has been organized in both Sana'a and Aden and that important agreements are to be signed.
The Third Italian Week will also enhance the bilateral bonds between the local institutions.
