To Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Cooperation Agreement Dutch Prince & Minister to Arrive in Yemen [Archives:1998/39/Front Page]

On the 8th of October, 1978 Yemen and the Netherlands signed a landmark agreement, launching a fruitful bilateral economic agreement. Since then, the Dutch Kingdom has been one of the leading aid partners of Yemen.
During the last week of October, 1998, the two countries will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the launching of their cooperation with numerous activities. The high point of the celebrations will be the arrival in Sanaa on October 26th of Prince Claus and Ms. Eveline Herskens, Minister for International Development Cooperation.
Yemeni authorities are excited with the visit and the occasion. They are organizing various events to coincide with the visit of the Dutch dignitaries. They also plan to show strong appreciation for the fruitful bilateral cooperation program.
In addition to official meetings in Sanaa, the Dutch delegation will visit Wadi Hadhramaut, a region of rich cultural and historic heritage.
