Governor of Taiz, Judge Ahmed al-Hajri, and the Chairman of the Tourism Development Authority inaugurated on Tuesday January 11 a center for the Tourism Authority in Taiz. He surveyed the departments of the premises and was met with Sadeq Mohsen Salah, Director of the Authority branch, and Taiz Tourism Police Official, Hamood Abdul Haq. Director of the branch showed the activities conducted during 2004 and his efforts in the tourism survey of the province which identified some 46 tourism locations.

Both Judge al-Hejri and Mr. Taqi renewed the Governorate and the Authority support and full encouragement to the tourism sector of the Governorate in facing the tourism seasons and upgrading the services offered to the tourists. They pledged to continue implementing Wadi al-Mulk tourism project on the Red Sea coast, stressing the importance of boosting tourism investment and conserving historic sites.

Mr. Taqi pointed out that tourism in our country witnesses improvement from year to year, and that the number of the Arab tourists have increased from 85 thousands in the Year 2003 up to 123 thousand tourists in the year 2004. It is anticipated that the Year 2005 will witness an even larger tourism influx.
