TAIZ, May 29- A high-ranking World Bank delegation has recently paid a short visit to the Yemen Company for Ghee and Soap Industry, YCGSI.
John Bryant Collier, Operations Officer, and Meskerem Brhane, Social Scientist, both of whom belong to the Water, Environment, Social and Rural Development of the Middle East and North Africa Region, were among the top visitors.
They were accompanied by the YCGSI General Manager, Mr. Shukri al-Furais and toured a number of different production sections.
The delegation has expressed its deep admiration for the giant strides made by the company, including its expansion, importation, highly sophisticated industrial machines, and high growth rates.
During their visit, attention has been paid by the delegation to environmental protection and the pivotal role played by the private sector in exploring further opportunities for expanding public-private partnership in the solid waste management sector and making use of those solid material to be recycled for industrial purposes.
