Transport Syndicate continues strike [Archives:2004/765/Local News]
Aden Bureau
The Aden branch of the transport syndicate has gradually resumed its strike in protest over the interference of the local authority on the work of the committee. The committee was formed by Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, the Mayor of Aden, and aims to find solutions to the deficiencies of the bus and taxi stations.
The committee had started finding solutions to the problem, but when the Mayor of Aden left for London, the local authority began to interfere in the work of the committee and to hamper its activity, subsequently compelling the transport syndicate to resume going on a gradual strike.
There are 6000 vehicles running inside the governorate. The chairman of the transport syndicate in Aden has set a number of conditions to end the strike. The conditions were related to the improvement of the flow of traffic in the governorate.
