Many journalists have given statements of support for the pioneer journalist, who is seen as one of the most courageous and respected journalist in the Arab world, and who is currently held captive in Spain and facing accusations ranging from belonging to Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network to involving in terrorist activities.
This event held by the YJS is one of many activities carried out by the syndicate to support freedom of the press locally and internationally.
The YJS will be holding its third general congress in Sana'a in December 27-29 to elect or reelect its leader. All members of the Syndicate's general assembly will be eligible to vote.
