Unfulfilled Promise [Archives:2001/44/Local News]

Many people inquire about the fate of the exhibition, which includes roughly 3000 pieces of old coins collected and assorted by Mr, Yusef Mahyoub al-Tayar. Two months ago, Chairman of the Shora Council, Mr. Abdulaziz Abdulghani, inaugurated the exhibition at the Central Bank of Yemen, which was fully organized by al-Tayar himself. Now Yusef al-Tayar is asking about the unfulfilled promise of the Central Bank of Yemen to award him a house in return for his coins. Earlier al-Tayar received many attractive offers to purchase his old coins, but preferred to give them to the government.
