The USA consular section in the American embassy in Yemen has updated its warning to U.S. citizens traveling to Yemen and urged U.S citizens to reconsider. The U.S Department of State is concerned of the prospect of terrorist attacks by extremist or terrorist groups against US citizens and interests in the country.

The warning indicated that security threats remain highly possible because of terrorist activities in Yemen, and urged American citizens to take prudent measures to maintain their security and exercise caution.

The communique added “US citizens should maintain high level of vigilance, avoid crowds and vary times and routes in their travel inside Yemen. They should also vary times and routes in their travel inside Yemen. They should carry their travel documents while they are in Yemen”.

The American Embassy in Sana'a said that the communique is a routine warning for the Americans that is issued every six months, denying the existence of any new information or possible acts of terrorism to take place in Yemen.
