A vaccination campaign was concluded on Friday September 16th in 149 districts of 18 governorates. It was the third round carried out by the Ministry of Health and Population for vaccinating infants against fatal infantile diseases. The round aimed at vaccinating against tetanus, polio and measles. 90% of targeted governorates were successfully visited. This protects 284,000 infants, other than those born this year, against whooping cough and diphtheria. This comes at a time when different efforts are being exerted to reduce the rates of infant diseases, as well as to discover potential new epidemics.
