The Association of the Spouses of Heads of Diplomatic Missions was able, on 19th September, to give the children of Bab Al-Ahjar a primary school sufficient for 120 pupils. The school has five classrooms, a teachers’ room, and sanitary areas.
The project was financed through the proceeds of a bazar held in November 1997. Other contributors include CCC, VEFA, and the construction firm TURYEM. The local villagers provided most of the labor.
The Association regularly embarks on charity efforts.
