Women’s Health & Information Resources [Archives:2000/15/Local News]

Under the auspices of Health Minister, a workshop on women’s Health and Information Resources was held yesterday April 9, 2000 by the WID Facilitation Initiative in coordination with the Women National Committee, UNFPA and UNDP.
The workshop lasts for three days 9-11 during which issues of reproductive health, different tumor and illness, as well as the role of the national and international organizations in this regard.
Dr. Hashim Al-Zain, acting resident representative of WHO, Amat Al-Alim Al-Soosowah, chairperson of the Women National Committee and Faisal Al-Kuhali, deputy minister of Health delivered speeches on the inauguration get-together pointing out the importance of this workshop and project which will be an information base for women.
It is worth noting that the WID Facilitation Initiative, chaired by Ms. Samra Al-Shaibani, the project coordinator, is a recently established project which will be a center for collecting data on women’s projects and programs.
