Wednesday, June 23, Taiz- A workshop regarding regulating and organizing the profession of beekeepers was held at the Rural Training Center in Taiz.
The 48 beekeepers involved in the workshop representing all governorates of the Republic gathered with the aim of organizing the profession of beekeepers in Yemen. The workshop was organized by the Development and Bee-Raising Project.
The project has been holding regular training sessions, the latest of which involved 30 trainees, in order to enhance the role of society in preserving the quality of Yemeni honey and its high standard in the face of international competition.
The two-day workshop resulted in a number of recommendations and suggestions to sustain the high quality of Yemeni honey. It was attended by Mr. Mohamed Al-Ansi, Assistant Undersecretary at Taiz Governorate, Eng. Abdullah Al-Junaid, Director- General of the Agriculture Office in Taiz, Eng. Mukbel Al-Bhr, Director of the Project and Eng. Jamal Abdul Rahman, Director-General of the Public Authority on Quality and Specification- Taiz Branch, and a number of other related officials.
