World Bank Loan To Expand Basic Education [Archives:2000/35/Local News]

According to an agreement initialed at Washington, the World Bank has approved a US$56 million loan for the expansion of basic education project in Yemen. The loan shall be used in three basic components for building schools in hinterlands and remote districts. It includes training and qualification and equipment. The agreement was signed by Dr. Yehya Al-Shabi, Minister of Education and the World Bank Advisor of Education Sector at the Human Resources Development Group.
