Employees as well as the company workers attired themselves with the YCGSI uniform symbolizing the unified teamwork spirit.
A number of speeches were delivered during the ceremony revolving around the company's production increase during the previous couple of years.
As a pioneering company in the field of ghee and oil production, the YCGSI founders took the initiative to establish the company in 1975 for supporting as well as filling the gap of Yemen's economy and for providing job opportunities for thousands of jobless people.
A speech was delivered by the YSGSI General Manager, Mr. Shukri al-Furais focusing on different production stages of the company particularly since its establishment in the 1970s as the first ghee and oil company at the capacity of 75 tones per a day.
“During the first years of its establishment, the company underwent a lot of difficulties due to the difficult economic circumstances and the strong foreign competition. But due to loyalty of its administration and its employees, the company could not only continue and survive, but also promote its capabilities in different production lines which represent the first seeds for the company to increase its production in order to reach 225 tons per day,” the YCGSI General Manager remarked.
In 1984, an increase of the company's production lines was felt and therefore it reached 450 tons per day in order to meet the foreign and domestic consumption demands.
For supporting Yemen's economy and for diversifying its services rendered to the local consumption, the YCGSI ultimate aim is not restricted to develop its production capacity, but a need has been felt by the company in order to meet needs of the local consumer and a result, the toilet soap plant was established in 1982 at the capacity of 24 tons per day.
In 1984, the detergents powder plant was established for meeting the ever-increasing demands and that the production capacity was increased in order to reach 192 tons per day.
A number of highly sophisticated machines and equipment have been brought to the company for promoting and developing the company's production capacity.
“The YCGSI quality products were and have been still one of the main pillars of the market competition and its products have enjoyed a distinguished reputation at both local and foreign levels,” Mr. al-Furais remarked.
The YCGSI products were rewarded the 9002 ISO certificate in November 1996 for being the first company which has applied the ISO standards.
For being also the first company in promoting the quality management system depending on self-reliance, the company was rewarded in November 1997, the 9001 ISO certificate.
A speech was delivered by Mr. Moneer Ahmed Hael, the Deputy General Manger of Head Office affiliated to the Hael Saeed Ana'am Group of Companies, expressing his deep admiration of the YCGSI ever-increasing growth. He also highly spoke of the company's well-run management system.
During the closing ceremony, top employees representing different YCGSI departments were honored in appreciation of their best efforts at the company.
The ceremony was attended by the YCGSI employees and workers, dignitaries, chief guests and a host of others.
