YDF holds training session on capacity building [Archives:2003/671/Local News]

Sana'a, September 23- Part of its initiatives to activate civil society organizations, the Yemeni Development Foundation has successfully completed a 2-day training session on capacity building for a number of Yemeni organizations in Sana'a. The course entitled, “Writing effective reports, importance of participation, learning, work, and the logical structure of projects” was held during 21-22 September.
During the opening session, Mr. Mohammed Al-Masyabi, the founder and chairman of YDF welcomed the participants representing the ministry of planning and development, a number of NGOs, and welfare association and inaugurated the event by giving a speech on the foundation's activities in Yemen and in the United Kingdom.
The lectures of the session were then given by Dr. R. Carman, the research and development manager at YDF, and a former instructor and researcher at the University of Manchester.
The objectives of the training course were focused on training participants how to write effective proposals and reports to donors and concerned bodies, activating participants' role in learning, work, and successful organization, and informing them about means to establish logical structures and hierarchy for better planning, supervision, and evaluation of projects.
