Director-General of Foreign relations and Interpol Bureau in Sana’a Dr Abdulqader Qahtan has disclosed last week that the number of the wanted by Yemen and being circulated via the Interpol is 18 persons, three of them bearing friendly countries nationalities, while the remainders are of Yemeni nationality. He has added that there are 94 wanted persons demanded for through the Arab Bureau of Criminal Police of the Arab Interior Ministers Council. Twenty-seven of those wanted carry nationalities of Arab and friendly countries and 67 of them have Yemeni nationality.
Dr Qahtan has not elaborated whether those persons are wanted for terrorist issues as part of Yemen’s campaign on fighting the so-called terror in cooperation with the United states of America. He has, however, said the role of the Interpol in context of fighting terror stops at conveying information and statements and their exchange with world states. For this purpose the Interpol has dedicated a special department offering its services day and night and what information must be conveyed to the world about terrorist elements.
