In a celebration held on March 3, Yemen Times staff members celebrated the 18th anniversary of the newspaper's establishment. Yemen Times was founded in 1990 by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saqqaf as Yemen's first English language newspaper, and continues to be Yemen's most widely-read and trusted English newspaper.

The first issue of Yemen Times came on 28 Feb. 1991. Today the newspaper is a benchmark for independent contemporary journalism in Yemen and the Middle East.
