Yemen to Seek IMF and WB Assistance [Archives:2001/48/Front Page]

Yemen will be seeking financial aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) during the official visit of President Saleh to the USA which begins today.
The assistance is intended to support the economic reform program that the country had started in 1995 following the 1994 Civil War.
Yemen, which is the poorest Arab country, is suffering from a foreign debt exceeding USD 4 billion.
