Yemen welcomes Bushs proposals on Palestinian state [Archives:2002/27/Local News]
The Yemeni cabinet welcomed the proposals made by US President, George Bush, on the creation of a Palestinian state after ensuring Israels full pull-out to pre-1967 borders, and ending the Israeli occupation in accordance with the international legitimate resolutions 242 and 338.
Yemens government views implementing these two resolutions, including stopping settlements policies and aggressions, as the only way for bringing about peace to the region.
Yemen also expressed concern over the US interventions in the Palestinian Authoritys affairs.
The Palestinian people are the only people responsible for choosing their leadership at all levels, the statement said.
The cabinet further commended the decision taken by the European Union held in Seville, Spain which called for creating the Palestine state.
