Yemeni astronomer predicts eclipse of the sun [Archives:2004/731/Local News]
Yemeni astronomer, Ahmed Muhsen Al-Jubi, predicts a partial eclipse of the sun to take place next Monday. The possibility of this occurrence, according to Mr. Al-Jubi, is 72.54% in regions including the Atlantic Ocean and southern Africa. The eclipse would last four hours, ten minutes and 21 seconds.
Mr. Al-Jubi said that the eclipse would begin at exactly 14:29:56 and would end at 18:38:37 Mecca time.
Mr. Al-Jubi confirmed that during the eclipse, 39.5% of the sun will be seen from Cape Town and 29,9% of the eclipsed sun will be seen from Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa.
