SANAA- A meeting between the Yemeni businessmen and the Ambassador of Indonesia to Yemen, Yulwis Yatim was held on April at the latters residence here on April 28.
During the meeting a number of trade issues were carefully discussed between the Yemeni businessmen and the Ambassador of Indonesia.
Exchange of trade between Yemen and Indonesia has been progressing, particularly in the recent years.
In 2001 from January to November, Indonesia exports went up to USD 28,853,300,00 which is 18.5% compared to the year 2000 which was USD 70,090,1000,00. Yemens export to Indonesia also increased to USD 1,001,000,00, up 6% compared to the year 2000 which was USD 953, 200,00.
The increase has been attributed to the good quality and competitive prices of Indonesian commodities compared to similar products of the Asian countries like China, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and India that are available in Yemen markets.
Indonesia exported to Yemen a lot of different types of commodities such as power and telecommunication cable and wire, electrical appliances, motorcycles, automotive spare parts, battery, paper, stationary, textile, yarn, garment, household appliances, plastic products, wood, furniture, medicines and other products.
