The Italian Jewelry and Industrial Exhibition was organized by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, of Sanaa and Vicenza and the Italian Embassy in Sanaa. It was held from the second to the fifth of June.
The exhibition included cultural and musical events at the Sheraton Hotel, along with fabulous meals.
The exhibition was attended by the Minister of Industry, Development & Planning and a host of the Yemeni businessmen.
I met with the chief commercial attach Mr. Gian Carlo Culazzo and asked him about the idea of organizing the exhibition in Yemen.
I greatly appreciate the efforts made by the organizers of this exhibition, without them we would not be able to have done this successfully, he said.
The exhibition was sponsored by the Adhban and Almaz Group, al-Hadhal Group, Hawk Int., Man Int. Corp., AMEKO, Sheraton Hotel, Spacetel, TeleYemen, Yemenia Airways and the Yemen Times.
We brought a lot of jewelry along with the machines because there is the possibility of making jewelry here in Yemen. With the proper technology, proper training and Yemeni craftsmanship we can make Italian jewelry, Mr. Carlo Culazzo noted.
More than 1220 women attended the jewelry fashion show and it was also shown on the Yemen TV Channel.
Consequently, several agreements have been signed by the Italian delegation.
We have found that the people are interested in our products. Surely that will bring the public here from Italy and Europe, Mr. Carlo Culazzo concluded.
