YR30 million a day deposited at post offices [Archives:2005/809/Business & Economy]
Savings deposited at the post office banking service has reached YR 30 million daily, while the number of customers has increased to around 162, 000, said Yasser Hassan Thamer, General Director of Relations and Information at the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology.
These increases have come after the Cabinet's 2005 decree No. 23, which gave the Post and Postal Savings Corporation an extra 20 per cent share in Teleyemen, taking it to a total of 25 per cent ($15.5 million).
The Posts and Postal Savings Corporation was a five per cent shareholder in Teleyemen when it came under the General Telecommunication Corporation after 13 years of Yemen-British partnership.
