Columnist Abbas al-Dailami says I his article few are the countries that possess most of tourist constituents, including climate and capability of attracting tourists around the year. This is a rare trait and matchless wealth if we consider what tourism means in our age and the indications that tourism is the wealth of future.
All that is needed is a government orientation to pay tourism its due care and interest. Orientation should be associated with promotional campaign and media coverage capable of communicating with others and attracting them towards tourism. When we consider the Yemeni tourist potentials we find that we are in possession of a wealth calling us to utilize and deal with it with reason and sound planning and seriousness. In its position and climate diversity Yemen possesses all qualities of attracting tourists around the year. Yemen possesses beautiful beaches and diversified terrain which provide the need of the tourists looking for suitable places for practicing the sports of diving, mountain climbing and desert tourism in addition to natural baths and mineral waters. With its cultural heritage of arts and architecture and habits and traditions, and historical landmarks Yemen would attract those searching for cultural tourism.
Hence e can assume that tourism in Yemen is the wealth no. one, if not he second after the fish wealth. This places us before a fact calling us in the highest pitch of sound in that we are urgently in need of laying the necessary foundations for taking measures guaranteeing the achievement of utmost benefit from one or more riches we possess and to deal with them according to the integrated plans and programs.
