The Yemeni capital Sana'a is hosting on Saturday and Sunday meetings of the Yemeni-Gulf Technical Committee's fifth session, the army's organ reported on its front page. The meetings are chaired by Dr. Motahhar Al-Abbasi, Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation while the Monday and Tuesday's meetings of donors will be chaired by Abdullah Hassan Al-Shater, Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation for Projects Programming Sector. In a statement to the newspaper, Al-Abbasi said the technical committee is due to continue discussing and studying Yemeni development needs in light of President Saleh's initiative to leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, which concentrated on the basic sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, human resources development and infrastructure.

The weekly quoted the Yemeni official as saying that the committee is due to review the current arrangements for holding the First Consultative Meeting of Donors to observe the implementation of financial pledges in Sana'a during this June. The consultative meeting is scheduled to be held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdulkarim Al-Arhabi.
