Members of the National Anti-corruption Authority were sworn in on Wednesday before Preisdent Ali Abdullah Saleh, the Yemeni Army's organ reported. It added that the president then chaired the first meeting of the authority that consists of eleven members, expressing his happiness to chair the meeting. “I am happy to chair the first meeting of the authority and congratulate all members of the authority for the confidence they got from parliament and personally from me to combat corruption.””

Saleh gave the authority all the powers to conduct field visits and obtain reports from all the state's institutions. “”We are confident of all the state's institutions but corruption could be found in any office.
