The Yemeni army's organ reported that a contract has just been signed between Yemeni General Corporation for Radio and Television and Arab Corporation for Satellite Communication (ArabSat). The agreement finds space assignment for four new Yemeni satellite channels.
There will be two educational channels and a channel for young people as well as a channel dedicated to tourism during the first stage of implementation. A fourth channel, to start during the last stage, has yet to be identified. They'll start trials in November of next year and hope to be broadcasting later that same year. The contract is worth approximately $2.3 million.
