The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has elected on Tuesday Yemen a member in WIPO's Coordination Committee, the weekly reported. According to WIPO approval, Yemen has become a member of the Coordination Committee of WIPO for two years for the first time since it has joined the organization in March 1979. Yemen was elected during the meetings of the WIPO from September 24 to October 3.
The Coordination Committee is one of most important committees of WIPO for it handles important responsibilities such as revising the performance of the organization and making administrative measures. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is dedicated to developing a balanced and accessible international intellectual property (IP) system, which rewards creativity, stimulates innovation and contributes to economic development while safeguarding the public interest.
