Al Awadh Tribe Sits-in at Al-Baidha [Archives:2001/02/Local News]

A tribal group belonging to Radman Al Awadh from Al-Baidha governorates Radman region attempted to take control of the governorates office in Al-Baidha City last week. Their action comes in protest against not declaring Radhman a separate province and for other issues concerning local administration elections, which will take place on the 20th of February 2001. The 300-man group which continued a several-day sit-in at the governors building strongly requested the declaration of Radman as a province to avoid possible tribal conflict.
