Competent authorities in the Yemeni government have denied news reports with regard to halting renewal of residence permits of almost 200,000 Iraqis, urging the various media outlets to verify authenticity of such reports, the website reported on its lead story.
It went on to say that news reports has said that Yemeni authorities refused renewing 200,000 residence permits of Iraqis as a result of backing Al-Hohuthi rebellion in Saada , north Yemen.
According to previous media reports,Yemeni authorities have refused renewing 200,000 residence permits of Iraqis because of their involvement and loyal support for Abdulmalik Al-Houthi fighting against the government troops in the war-ravaged Sa'ada province.
Officials from Yemen's Interior Ministry and the Iraqi Embassy to Yemen declined to comment on the issue.
Yemeni security official, who spoke to Al-Arabia Satellite Television on condition of anonymity, said that renewing Iraqis' residence permits were refused as a result of arresting Iranians, having Iraqi passports, involved in supporting Al-Houthi rebellion in Saada, north Yemen.
