Aden local council discusses nationalized houses [Archives:2004/699/Local News]

The local council of Aden governorate has Monday approved at the conclusion of meetings of its fourth 3-day session for 2003 a bill of tackling the issue of the nationalized houses in the governorates while taking into consideration remarks and proposals offered by members of the council.
The council's session has also discussed issues of developmnt in the governorate. The meetings were held under chairmanship of the governor Dr Yahya al-Shuaibi, the chairman of the council and attended by Mr Abdulkareem al-Shaif, the deputy governor and secretary general of the council.
The session was ended with his serious discussions of all articles of the regulation concerning treatment of the issue of nationalized houses.
Members of the council have touched on definitions describing the owner and the nationalized residence, the amount of compensation and the committees that would work on determining that.
The governor has confirmed to members of the council that the issue is being under solution in accordance with directives of the president Ali Abdulla Saleh.
He pointed out that the regulation took into consideration many trends, among which returning the properties that were still in possession of the state to their original owners and returning the nationalized estates that had been evacuated after the presidency and ministers councils decrees issued on 12 December 1991and allotment of an area of land characterised by being distinguished and clear.
The governor made it clear that the area of compensation amounted to 2 million square meters and at significant sites reprsenting the value of compensation distributed over ten places in a number of districts of the governorate.
The governor pointed out that the regulation would be implemented within a year of putting it in force and its final version would be referred to the president to be endorsed.
