Columnist Hamdi Doubala questions in an article if democracy has become a big stick the great powers waver with against whoever does not agree with their policies and intentions. Those powers have made the concept of democracy a pretext enabling them to interfere in affairs of the weak and impose their will on them without any objection. The weapon of modern democracy is a guarantee for facilitating the complicated matters and overcoming difficulties so when was it that norms and traditions of democracy a means for oppressing peoples and plundering their riches? The writer also questions when was democracy with all its large concepts and contents as word and a term all have to understand and practice overnight under the threat of a big stick?
