– Sa'ada's restores calm after Saleh declares suspension of military operations

After more than three months of fierce confrontations between government troops and Al-Houthi supporters in Sa'ada, the situation turns into clam as President Ali Abdullah Saleh declared suspension of military operations on the 17th Anniversary of Yemen's Unification, the Islah Party's mouthpiece reported. It quoted press sources as saying that a member of the mediation committee welcomed the decision. The weekly added that Sa'ada local sources said that the situation is calm but people are in a state of full alert as several deadliest events occurred prior to Saleh's declaration.

According to the sources, the government troops, backed by some loyal tribesmen, controlled Shawaba Mountain in Razeh after bloody clashes claimed several lives on both sides. Ten Houthi loyalists were arrested during the clashes.
