Bomb Explosions
A massive bomb explosion rocked the city of Lauder at 11 pm on Thursday, August 13. The fifth in two months, the explosion caused extensive damage to the Political Security offices and nearby buildings.
A similar explosion took place at dawn the following Friday in nearby Ahwar. It was later discovered that an RPG missile was fired at a petrol station in the city’s outskirts. Eyewitness accounts indicated that an armed group in a pick-up truck fired the rocket and was met by light weapon fire by group of men positioned on the station’s roof.
