The reasons are economic, psychological, and social. Parents of graduate females demand higher dowries; their daughters are valued higher than uneducated ones. Many young men believe that a female university graduate finds it easy to mix with strange men, is unable to do the house chores and take care of the babies, has a haughty attitude, and is likely to have a higher intellectual level than her husband.
