Article Summary:
Missionary Activity in Aden
Renovation work done by the US marines to a church and a clinic in Aden during a recent visit by a US battle ship has aroused many questions. Established in 1910, part of the Ras Marbat church was turned into a clinic in 1990, financed by Britain, Holland and Germany. It provides health services primarily to women and children.
Female students visiting the clinic are given copies of the Bible to read at home and return later. Also distributed are books telling different stories to those mentioned by the Quran. People living in the area say that there are about 20 new converts to Christianity, who regularly visit this church. There are other apostates who do not announce their change of religion.
Humanitarian aid and health services are not rejected, but the missionary activities that go with them are unacceptable.
