Reality shows that many people are living in hardship, and a large proportion of them live below the poverty line. One look at the increasing number of bedraggled people begging at road junctions and traffic lights is sufficient to give an indication as to the deteriorating level of living conditions. Some so-called kindhearted people go into the poor areas to distribute money in the most humiliating of ways. It is a tragedy that Eid comes while the majority of the people are hungry.
