Al-Thawri weekly report mentions that the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate elections have resulted in the selection of a new young leadership as the syndicate's council has included 12 members, nine of them are new and the chairman Mahboob Ali has won for a second term.
The third conference was concluded on 24 February with financial accusations while the conference's reports, including the financial, were not endorsed. The conference's recommendations and decisions emphasized on rendering care for the press and to push it forwards towards the institutional structure. The conference has assigned the elected administrative body with doubling its role in protecting journalist rights against violation and to stand up to attempts of influencing credibility of the word and the condition of the journalists description of jobs.
The conference stressed the press sticking to principles and values of dialogue, tolerance and respect of the authority of the law and building the modern national state. The conference appealed to the judiciary and executive powers to stop harassment against journalists, calling for dissemination of public and individual freedoms and embodiment of the principle of access to information and guaranteeing the publication of various point of view.
