– Parliamentary report discloses contradiction between laws and effective legislations
The weekly reported on its front page that Parliament released a report emphasizing the necessity of reviewing the criminal and penal laws and revising the legislations placed in effect, particularly the financial, judicial, security and local authority legislations. Prepared by the parliamentary legal and constitutional committee, the report strongly recommended activating the role of legal affairs offices in different governorates and obliging ministries to provide their provincial offices with all the effective legislations. It also recommended activating the local authority law in a way including all the local authority units and enabling the elected local councils to exercise their duties.
The report revealed shortcomings and limitations contained in the local authority law, as it doesn't take into consideration other legislations placed into effect. It said that Parliament and the cabinet are required to resolve these limitations via organizing joint workshops with the aim of spreading legal awareness in the legal and executive offices.
