Article Summary:
Scandalous Report
By Abdullah A. Al-Kibsi
The report submitted to parliament by the Central Organization for Control and Audit (COCA), documenting gross financial irregularities and administrative mismanagement, is the first of its kind. It has indicated that corruption is widespread in many public service ministries.
The report has shown the danger of not allowing parliament and other monitory bodies to exercise their full duties. COCA should be allowed to follow-up all the cases it refers to the courts. The report also proves that there are in Yemen many honest and diligent people who wish to serve their country well.
