2- Small-scale skirmishes on the Yemeni-Saudi border left one Yemen soldier dead and several wounded from both sides.
3- Saudi Arabia is to hold an oil and gas conference simultaneously with Yemen’s international gathering.
4- Confusion prevails in the admission process into Sanaa University. Students protest against being admitted into disciplines they did not ask for.
Unique Tribal Protest
It took place at the National Institute for Administrative Sciences. A number of tribesmen, led by a building contractor from the Hashid tribe, danced the Baraa (traditional Yemeni jambia dance) at the institute’s courtyard. The institute owes the contractor a total of $750,000 for construction work done to its premises in both Sanaa and Ibb. The Hashid man had, two weeks ago, locked in the institute’s employees during working hours.
He also locked the Ibb branch, which was inaugurated by the President, and prevented employees and students from going in.
