Unique Tribal Protest
It took place at the National Institute for Administrative Sciences. A number of tribesmen, led by a building contractor from the Hashid tribe, danced the Baraa (traditional Yemeni jambia dance) at the institute’s courtyard. The institute owes the contractor a total of $750,000 for construction work done to its premises in both Sanaa and Ibb. The Hashid man had, two weeks ago, locked in the institute’s employees during working hours.
He also locked the Ibb branch, which was inaugurated by the President, and prevented employees and students from going in.
