An Innocent Question!! [Archives:2003/670/Letters to the Editor]

Some of the satellite channels and some of the newspapers, including which was al-Ayam newspaper in its issue published on Monday 8th of September 2003, published news on its last page saying that a police-guarded demonstration of 3000 dogs took place in streets of Berlin went for five kilometers in the centre of the city demanding more rights for dogs.
And we in our turn may ask the question; can 3000 children take to the street in any demonstration in any Yemeni city, in this democratic / human rights country demanding to be protected from and provided with the basic necessities of life such as shelter, food, clothes and education? Can the costs of school books, note books, pens and pencils, meals and medical care be provided to the Yemeni children?
This is a question dedicated to the authorities in this country, a country where rights of the human beings do not reach the level of animals' rights in other countries!
