I appreciate the candor and interest of your editorial regarding the issue of democracy in Lebanon.
I am sad to report that Lebanon has in fact failed the democratic test as you yourself define it. It is even more disappointing to note that the bigger blame rests on the shoulders of its neighboring Arab state, hardly a country of democratic temperament.
At the moment, the belief in democracy lives in the hearts and minds of the Lebanese who resent are disgusted by this latest act of inter-Arab power mongering.
