Chairman of Countries Programs in  UNDP Visits Yemen [Archives:2000/13/Local News]

Mr. Michael Smith, Chairman of Regional Office for Arab countries of the UNDP in New York visits Yemen from March 23- 28, 2000 to attend a meetings of the countries held in the Republic of Yemen every five years.
This meeting aims at reviewing the progress in the economic and administrative reform in Yemen, and also to support the UNDP program.
This review concentrates on four fields. These fields include the natural resources, putting and end to poverty, creating of filling vacancies, building capacities in the field of judgement and institutional reform and administrating disasters.
During the period 1997- 2001, the UNDP and Yemeni government prepared a support for the five-year plan within the framework of their cooperation, economic and administrative reform.
